Artist's Comments

This is an attempt on capturing an unusual angle on a tower. People do tend to hold the photo horizontally if they're handed the paper version, but this is the correct position.
Might just try to reprint this with more detail on the clowds, but i'm kind of fond of this, in an experimental sort of way

any comments or suggestions most welcome

stunning shot. terrific angles and textures (building itself, and the clouds) great eye *hats off to you:)*

of course (since you asked for critique), i'm going to poke at it with, blacker blacks and whiter whites. but again, i don't know what you can do in a darkroom. and also that's a personal aethestic. so you don't have to pay attention ;)

cheers!

There are different layers to this image. I think it's very attractive, especially the reflection of the clouds and the wonderful angles. Just like gbisus13 said, I think the textures really lend to the success of the photo.

I can't seem to scan these things without loosing tons of contrast. i've a an HP psc 1200 but get this problem every time. the original photograph could do with a bit more contrast, but it's not as bad as it seems. i'll see what i can do about the scanners proprieties, and possibly update the image

thanks!
I actually took the shot for the angle, but i did pick the best of days to do it (out of luck). It had just rained for the first time after the summer, and the air was ever so clear, with some clowds to it. I was walking around with my hands forming a rectangle, looking for the right angle, when i noticed this shot. I admit that only when i put the camera to my face did i notice the clowds were reflecting off the tower in that place, and was delighted at my luck
it takes luck to get a shot as well i guess

Thanks for the comment, and the favourite!

Yeah, I think there's a bit of luck involved in everything we do.
